Creative, Jesmonite Workshops
People often say "I'm not a creative person", but these classes will change your mind!
Creating isn't about over-thinking and planning, it's about having fun and
self-expression. Aana Design's mindful making workshops will get you playing with
colour and pattern, releasing your inner creative you maybe never knew you had!
What Is Jesmonite?
Jesmonite, also known as an eco-resin, is a part natural mineral and part acrylic. It's non-toxic, eco-friendly and a durable material. I have been creating jewellery and homeware with this material since 2019 and the results will always surprise you. No two pieces are ever the same!
What to expect in a Jesmonite workshop
In this approximately 2.5 hour workshop, I will lead you through the fun process of making your very own homeware piece to take home and cherish forever! You don't need to be a 'creative' person; all you need is some enthusiasm and be ready to have some fun and I promise you will surprise yourself.
I'll demo some pour styles, taking you through how the material and pigments work before setting off to your stations where you will create your very own piece in the colours and pour styles of your choice with my guidance. No pattern will ever be duplicated so you will take home a truly unique item for your home (or gift it to someone you love!).
Workshops are kept to a maximum of 5 participants, giving you 100% of my attention and guidance and the best experience possible!
All equipment, gloves and aprons will be provided, along with snacks and refreshments! All you need to bring is your lovely self, perhaps some lunch and don't wear anything too fancy (although aprons will be provided, don't risk staining your clothes).
We will demould our pieces, revealing stunning and unique results! Together, we will easily sand away any sharp edges before sending you away with a sealer kit so you can keep your items looking their best for years to come! I'll do a demo for you in class, however it is very easy! (We don't complete this step in class, as Jesmonite needs 24 - 48 hours to fully cure before being sealed).
Where are the Workshops held?
Workshops are no longer held at Soul Retreat, Edinburgh.
Those days are over! Where you would normally book in for a pre-set date and time and would share the class with other people. Aana Design now provides classes where you can book in privately, at no extra cost!
I now host workshops in my holiday home at Port Seton.

- These are set up for specific times, with the schedule open one month in advance. Availability runs Fri, Sat & Sun.
- The time slots available can only be booked by one person for up to a group of 4 people.
- This means you get a private experience either by yourself, or for the number of people you have booked to join you.
- Once a slot has been booked it becomes unavailable for anyone else to join your class. However, if you'd like to ammend your booking, please email me to make adjustments.
- I will need your car registration plate in advance of your arrival so you are granted access onto the premises. (you can leave this in your booking notes or email after booking).
